Emilio J. Cocinero awarded the 2018 International Dr. Barbara Mez-Starck Prize

The Dr. Barbara Mez-Starck Foundation (Freiburg) has awarded the 2018 International Dr. Barbara Mez-Starck Prize to:
Prof. Dr. Alberto Lesarri, Universidad de Valladolid and Prof. Dr. Emilio J. Cocinero, Universidad del Pais Vasco (Bilbao),
for their extensive investigations of conformational behaviours and precise molecular structures of aminoacids, sugars, alkaloids, anesthetics and nicotinoids.
The prize, consisting of one to five thousand Euros, is awarded annually for outstanding contributions in the field of experimental structural chemistry and molecular physics including mainly electron diffraction, microwave and high-resolution infrared spectroscopy.
This is the first time that the prize is awarded to Spanish scientists. Moreover, Dr. Emilio J. Cocinero is the youngest scientist who has, so far, received this distiction. Dr. Cocinero is a member of SBE. In 2017 he was awarded a SBE-40 price and a number of his publications have been recently highlighted in Biofísica.
