PhD Fellowship (FPI-MINECO) at CNIC
4 years PhD position to join the Single-Molecule Mechanobiochemistry Laboratory led by Jorge Alegre-Cebollada at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Research (CNIC), Madrid (Spain).
We study the role of elastic proteins in the development of cardiac disease, by combining the latest single-molecule manipulation techniques by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and protein biochemistry techniques such as mass spectrometry. The research project focuses on the role of protein unfolding and refolding, and their regulation, in the passive elasticity of cardiac muscle in health and disease.
Funding
MINECO program contratos predoctorales para la formación de doctores (former FPI).
Eligibility
Only candidates who can apply to a predoctoral program in 2015 are eligible. We welcome applicants who are interested in a multidisciplinary approaches to science, independently of their background.
