Senior permanent research positions in Structural Biology, Biocomputation, and Cell Biology
The ARAID Foundation launches an international call for applications to fill up to 8 research positions
Deadline: Applications must be submitted electronically before 14.00h (CET) February 29th 2016.
- The call is open to candidates of any nationality.
- Candidates must have excellent research records and leadership capabilities.
The IUI BIFI at the University of Zaragoza, supports applicants for this call, to work in any of the following fields:
Structural Biology
Applicants should have special emphasis in cryo electron microscopy (cryo EM), to solve structures of large protein complexes. Requirements: 3-‐5 years experience in microscopy, direct experience with Cryo-‐EM techniques and working knowledge of Linux and the software packages used to process EM data.
Biocomputation
Applicants should have experience in the analysis of protein stability, dynamics and function and their relationships to human diseases and cellular regulation. Requirements: 3-‐5 years experience in computational Biology, direct experience with analyses of databases, pdb files and MD trajectories using own scripts and previous collaborations with experimental groups.
Cell Biology
Applicants should have a strong drive for understanding molecular details. Experience with single molecule techniques applied to cell function analysis is desired. Requirements: Ph.D. or M.D. with 3-‐5 years experience in Cell Biology, direct experience with single molecule techniques, a strong interest in cell modelling, and are expected to establish a vigorous and internationally competitive independent research program.
How to apply
Applicants who wish to be backed up by IUI BIFI should send a CV, 3 letters of reference, and a 3-‐5 page outline of future research plans to Prof. Javier Sancho and Dr Ramón Hurtado-‐Guerrero, before the 15th of February, 2016.
