Postdoctoral Position in Biomolecular NMR
Postdoctoral research position open at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine – IRB, Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics (LMB), lead by Xavier Salvatella Barcelona (Spain).
IRB Barcelona is a self-standing, non-profit institution devoted to basic and applied biomedical research. It was set up in 2005 jointly by the Government of Catalonia and the University of Barcelona and is located at the Barcelona Science Park. The institute currently has more than 430 members (scientific, technical and administrative staff) from all over the world, who work across disciplines to advance research in the biomedical sciences.
The Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics – LMB aims at understanding the relationship between the conformational changes occurring in large multi-domain proteins and their role in physiology and disease, with a special focus on proteins with intrinsically disordered regions that are often drug targets for oncology and neurodegenerative diseases.
The candidate should have experience in performing and interpreting NMR experiments to study the structure and dynamics of biomolecules in solution. The group has access to one 800 MHz and two 600 MHz Bruker spectrometers, all equipped with cryo-probes, and state of the art facilities for the expression, purification and biophysical characterization of biomolecules.
