Molecular clutch drives cell response to surface viscosity

Molecular clutch drives cell response to surface viscosity. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2018 Feb 6;115(6):1192-1197. doi: 10.1073/pnas.1710653115.
The molecular actin-talin-integrin-RGD clutch has been used to understand cell response to surface viscosity. The clutch is engaged only after a certain viscosity threshold is obtained recapitulating the well-understood cell response to matrix stiffness.
